I don’t remember. Probably around 4, 5, or 6 maybe? I don’t think 6 though. Maybe 5?

Yeesh. It's a wonder any of us survived childhood. It was the summer between kindergarten and first grade that I crashed my bike. Luckily when I hit the concrete, my head cushioned the fall. No one wore helmets back then. I remember waking up on my neighbor's white couch. She was on the phone and had her hand or something on my head. Then I blacked out and the next thing I remember is being in the tub at my house being bathed by my parents in what I thought was blood, which wasn't far from the truth. I didn't realize at the time that it was just my blood mixing with the water. I blacked out again and woke up on my parents' bed, and I remember trying to get up and go outside and my parents finding me and dragging me back to the bed, and when I finally did escape my parents' notice and made it outdoors a neighbor boy saw me and hit me in the head with a pine cone. For being concussed, it's one of my strongest memories from that time period.
So yeah, whatever age comes between kindergarten and first grade, I learned to ride a bike sometime before that.
