If I have a broody hen....I will most likely buy fertilized eggs so that my broody hen hears the chirping sound the eggs she spend 21 days of hard work sitting on.

Personally, it is also for me to watch broody hen talks to her eggs, then steal her baby chicks for kisses.

I am not adding anymore, unless the number is down.

I bought chicks this year, as I don't have an incubator and my broodies didn't get the memo I wanted them to set two months ago...

I also hoped to avoid getting cockerels by buying sexed pullets, but alas, I have a gorgeous Brahma cockerel whose name is likely going to be Soup.

I wasn't planning on any birds this year other than ducks, but I gave in to a broody about a month ago and now I have 11 new keets under a hen.
