Yes.

• Caltrain from Palo Alto, CA to San Francisco, CA
• MBTA - Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority - Around Boston, MA
• BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) - All over the SF Bay Area
• High-Speed train in Germany

A cross-country trip could be fun!

I've ridden the T in Massachusetts several times.

Yes. To Long Island to visit my grandfather back in the 40's.
To NYC.
To Terra Cinque in Italy.
As part of a tour in Alaska.
Local Christmas train with youngest grandson.

From Grand Rapids, MI to Boston, and also out to Washington state.

If you can get comfortable, the train will rock you to sleep.

No, despite being surrounded by train tracks. Srsly, there's a track a mile to the east of me and a track a mile to the west of me, and they are both very much active tracks

I’ve actually never been on a train.

My son loves trains, so we've been on pretty much every historic train in NY, NJ, CT, and PA. We've taken bullet trains in Asia and Europe, the Chunnel train, and a sleeper train in France. That was fun for him, but horrifying for me. I constantly felt like the train was going to flip over.
