This is my first post:) Does any one know what color chick a BO rooster and a barred (does not fit any breed perfectly) hen make? Also do RIR roosters and any barred hen make sex links?

Thanks for the responses! I am still confused then about which cross a couple of my newly hatched chicks are. I have three of the black sex links. But I also have a gray chick with a lot of red around her face and neck. And I have a chick that is buff but has barring on its wings. They are only 2 weeks old. I have a BO pooster and a RIR rooster and BO hens and mixed breed barred hens. The eggs that hatched were a mix of all the eggs so I am trying to sort out who's who.

hmmm that's funny, never seen a barred rock chick without a headspot...boy..or girl. I think what your getting at is the females will have a more "rounded" or symetrical dot...and the males will have a splash effect dot

Barred rocks are different from barred based sexlinks.
All barred rock chicks have a head spot.

Barred based sexlinks the males are barred and have the head spot.
The females are not barred therefore do not have the head spot.

OK thanks for that link. That is cool. So the buff chicks with barred wing feathers are males. Right?
