Question: Partridge Rock and Barred Plymouth Rock

Are these the same breed, just a different color? If they ARE the same breed, are their characteristics the same?

I am only asking because I am getting contradicting information from a couple different hatchery websites. I've already ordered Barred Rock, but I'm looking at Partridge Rocks too.... I'm interested in knowing disposition and rate of egg laying for them... the Partridge Rocks.

I've read the Barred Rocks are friendly, docile and are excellent layers of large brown eggs. Same for Partridge? Any input appreciated greatly... thanks.

Same breed different varieties (color) hatcheries don't breed to the standard so their quality and temperament varies. My hatchery barred are great layers, but I have had docile hens and mean roosters. They can not compare to the beauty of a show bred barred rock. I usually get 4-5 eggs a week from her.
