We recently extended out coop run its now 24 feet long and 12 feet wide, our coop is 5 feet wide and 8 feet long, we have around 22 bantams, do you think this is a good run and coop for them?

That sound pretty good to me! The run is good. The coop might be a little small but not a big deal with the run being that big.

Welcome to BYC! The run is large enough, but the coop is too small. The general rule of thumb is a minimum of 3 sq. ft. per bird for bantams (which would be 66 sq. ft. for 22) and you only have 40 sq. feet in your coop. Is there some way you can expand the area of the coop? Overcrowding a coop can quickly lead to aggression, feather plucking, and even cannibalism.

Well the run is completely covered and coop door to the run is always open in case a fight happens the loser could run outside, but well expand it!!

What breed of banties do you have?   Some are more docile than others.
I have dutch mixes, there pretty calm but there extremely flighty whenever they see a cat or dog walking towards there direction so we made a run with a covered top!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Good luck with your flock. Your run sounds like a good size, but that coop might be a bit small. Just keep an eye on them and you may need to expand on your coop at some point if they start to go off on each other.

Welcome to our flock!
