i am new my hen laid one egg last week broken and one egg these week that we had put in the incubator because my hen wasn't sitting on it she is quit young. Her friend our even younger and should start laying sometime in July. How do I get the flock to sit on there eggs.

What breed of chickens do you have? Some breeds are more likely to sit on eggs (be broody), than other breeds. Some just won't do it...it's just not in their nature.

Are the eggs fertile? If you don't have a rooster to fertilize your hen's eggs or you haven't obtained fertile eggs from somewhere, there isn't any point in her staying in the nesting box sitting on eggs.

She is a golden sex link.her birth April 5 2015 rooster same age white leghorn .

Questions these hens has laid now 23 eggs. But none of them or hatching . 15 17 18 19 20 21 our in on incubator it was set at humidity 80 and we read more and took out 2 1/2 cups of water and still the humidity level has not come down temps 100. No baby's yet her first litter on male and female. One egg looked funny these morning small and winkled shell.

And very dark in color in egg.how much chick noise should they get in 24 hr period.

It's been very hot or very cold windy and rain where we live lately .115 high or rainy and stormy

Can you explain in better detail what all this means? I can't understand anything other than room temperature is 72 by day and 80 at night. Are you shutting off a room fan or incubator fan at night?

these egg looks weird to me. It doesn't appear to be normal . What does these mean.
