Hello all, I've got a little miracle problem baby I need help with. He hatched a full two days early and went from pip to out of his egg in less than 8 hours but unfortunately hadn't absorbed his entire yolk yet. Didn't think the prognosis was good but left him in the incubator an extra day before moving him to the brooder and he's still quite active. His yolk sac has shrunk and dried up a bit but still sticks out quite a bit. The pictures are of him just hatched and then again at two days old.
Is there anything I can do to help him with this? He will be moving to my dads farm on Saturday so he has other chicks to socialize with but I'm worried about if the sack will still be hanging by then and the other chicks going after it. They will be about a week older than him.
He's also been inside his brooder for a full day and I haven't been able to spot any poops anywhere. He did poop in the incubator and I've checked his vent and its unobstructed. He has both dry and wet mashed chick feed and seems to be eating and drinking and he's only been in there a day so I'm not sure if this is something to worry over or not.
I'm prepared for the chance he won't make it but still looking for reassurances or ideas on how to give him his best chances at survival just in case!
