Questions about teen rooster

The hens squat and he picks them up so the wings are against his chest, feet and head out. They follow him around like a puppy (he likes to find bugs for them)

Firstly, your son sounds absolutely adorable.

But I think he will definitely be in danger from a young, aggressive, hormonal cockerel. The cockerel will perceive him as a rival male. He is essentially tidbitting for the hens, and they squat for him.

I get wanting him to understand where chicks are from, but maybe wait until he's older.

Eyes are shiny, and chickens are curious creatures. My cockerel was sitting on my shoulder and I looked over at him and he pecked me in the eye. Wasn't trying to attack me or anything, but it still hurt. No permanent damage thankfully, but you never know what can happen.

Don't all kids spend time naked while potty training?
Mine is 7y and was pottty trained at 2y - BUT(T) still runs around the yard naked every chance he gets!!

So far the rooster just runs from him, maybe if he's scared of my son there won't be an issue.
I'm hoping it ends up ok. I'm going to try and put him in with the big girls so they can straighten him out a bit. I'm not partial to him but it would be nice to keep a rooster around

I hope it all works out but you are on it and watchful. I doubt a 3 Y/O can understand the need and methods to keep a juvenile roo from trying to become the dominant roo which your son needs to be in order to stay safe.

I have a rooster that I believe was hatched out in late February/March
He's been recently chasing the other pullets around (same age/not laying yet)
He hasn't mated with any yet or started crowing
Any idea when that will start happening?
Also, my older hens are not too keen with him but he hangs out with them often. I'm hoping to get some chicks but idk if they will let him do his thing

My roo is 5 months old. He started crowing and being a pill at 4 months. He would chase the pullets and be loud and spastic. His nutty stage only lasted about 3 weeks. Then he started doing his little mating dance and calling hens for food all the time. He doesn't try to mate as much now without the dance and he is an overall great little guy :) The crowing also lessened to an appropriate frequency. Also, when I say 'little guy' I am being facetious for myself - He's a buff brahma.

Count your blessings that he isn't crowing yet! Do the pullets still want to hang out with him?

They all still hang around him. Last night I witnessed him trying to mate with a pullet and my dominant hen chased him off her. I'm pretty hopeful, I didn't know the crazy can just be a stage.
He doesn't do the dance or yet to call him to treats. I honestly think he hasn't successfully mated yet either
His 'crow' sounds hilarious. Like a bike horn with water in it. I crack up everytime I hear it
