i was wondering if a chicks comb is supposed to be dark or if its ok if its pale/light

It depends on the breed. Normally they are kind of yellow and turn pink but if the chick is dark to begin with and that is what the breed looks like then it may be normal for that chick.

thanks! I have no idea what kind of chicken I have at his point, But its comb is light yellow and it seems pretty healthy.

generally a chick that develops a red comb early is likely to be a rooster. The pullets tend to have smaller, pale combs up until the time they are about to lay eggs. Then their face and comb will redden.
