Questions on food and treats.

I am very new to this and have been reading till I can not see. But I remember reading that peanuts are not good or chickens and chicks. But as I have been reading the ingredient list on some food and treat bags there is peanuts in them. So my question is are peanuts good for chicks and chickens or not. very confused.

I think peanuts are alright, my hens eat peanuts in a treat mix that I buy at Tractor Supply nearly every day. I have never had a problem with my hens and they are one year old.
