So we took everyone's advice and my own instinct that the "starter kit" cage was too small - I swear they grow by the hour. It is cold and rainy here and we are still setting up the outdoor coop so we spent Saturday building a larger enclosure and my dining room has now been converted - I am officially a crazy chicken lady.
Light is off and they are doing just great - looking to move them outside within next 2-weeks although it still seems awfully chilly and they are still so little - hopefully we will see a bit of sun and they can sit outside in the cage a bit before the "big move".
I bought them grit and mealworm treats which they devour but I'm introducing everything super slow - all in moderation.
