I called a feed store this morning and asked what chicks he had available. He said white leghorns and (this is the question) Golden Sex Link or Golden Sussex. I hav not heard of this anybody got any info on what he could be telling me about? He said they were pullets 4 for $10.00 from Ideal Hatchery!

Ideal sells Gold Sexlinks, they are a crossbred layer created from Production Reds and Production Whites, the sexlinked part of course means they can be sexed at birth by color. They do not list Gold Sussex (I'm pretty sure there is no such thing, but there's so many new varieties popping up everyday I felt the need to qualify that). So the chicks would be the Sexlinks, and like most layer mixes lay really well for about 2 years and then be useless.

Thank you I am pretty sure he said Golden SexLink but I wasn't sure! I sure do like this Website you get answers pretty quick!
