Quick Hova Bator question? ? ? ?

I'm getting ready to order either the 1602 with or WITHOUT the fan -

how much of a difference in hatch rate does the fan make?

This will be the back up incubator to my Brinsea -

If getting a PC fan will work - anyone have a link to a diagram for setting it up with that?

I think you'll like the fan better. It takes care of any cold spots in the incubator giving even temp throughout unit. Without the fan you set temp to 101 F reading at top of eggs.

I have the 1602 without the fan. I put 3 eggs in last year and lost one because of a small crack in the egg. Put one in that was due to hatch last week and it didn't make it to hatch day. It was two days shy of HD. But the duck wasn't positioned right and couldn't pip. I know have 6 in at day 9 and doing great! So only natural causes has made mine not hatch. I LOVE my Hova-Bator!
