Two of my Plymouth hens will be in nesting boxes just sitting in there.. But at night, they all perch together. Could this just be her way of waking up when the sun rises, or perhaps she might be about lay eggs? She is probably about 6-7 months old now too so I know it's nearing that time.

Any suggestions or is it normal behavior for hens after the sun rises to hit the nesting boxes instead of perching with the flock?

Wonder if they are the lower ranking birds and the nest boxes are a good place to get away from the more dominant birds.

The white spots.. is that bad? Never seen that many spots on any egg! I read maybe to much calcium but the answers were unclear.
