Roof is treated plywood overlaid by corrugated tin sheets. Roofing nails (the ones with the little plastic gaskets on them) seem to only come in 5# buckets. I only need about 40 -- it's only a 4'x4' coop.

Do I NEED those type of roofing nails? Can I do/use something else? I was thinking of covering every nail with a dab of silicon -- would that work to make it leakproof?

Thanks.

I use these tek screws.

Thanks RJohns39. I looked at them but the packaging says "metal to metal" will they work OK for metal to wood? I don't know -- I'm a woman!!
Yes they do.

ETA: Make sure you also pickup a nut driver for your drill that is the right size for the head.
