Is it older hens or young hens just starting to lay ? I think it's an age and daylight length that starts laying in hens but IDK for sure . My Bantam hens are 8 months and have just started laying .

I think it's the lengthening in the days that starts the laying process and age of the hen mine didn't start laying until they were 8 months old . Mine are all the same age
