I have two chicks that are the same age, but one is considerably larger than the other. Everything is fine with them. Is that the way things happen or could I possibly have a roo? Thanks!

Are they the same breed? I bought a Wyandotte and an Australorp together. Same age, but the Wyandotte was about half the size of the Austrolorp. He was also tiny compared to all my other chicks I have him in with (EEs, Orpingtons, Dorkings, and a Brahma). He turned out to be a roo. I don't think Wyandottes are normally that much smaller than the other breeds I listed (though I could be wrong), I think he was just runty. Him and the Austrolorp were hatched together and brooded together, so everything else was equal.

My guess is that everything is just fine. We have one chick - sex unknown- and it doest have nearly the amount of feathers as the others and is a bit smaller, but he/she is completly fine.
