I have a mixed batch of 6 week old hatchery chicks right now. The plan is to keep one female of each breed, one male, and eat the rest. My known males are White Plymouth Rock and Salmon Faverolle. Unknown sexes so far are Black Langshans and Light Brahma. At first I thought I would keep one Faverolle roo since they look so much different than the females. I also read that they are less prone to aggression than other breeds. Now that I've had these little ones for a while, I'm finding that no one is really standing out as particularly nice/mean/interesting/etc...
So my question is this... Out of the 4 types I've got, which breed (Salmon Faverolle, White Plymouth Rock, Black Langshans, Light Brahma) would likely be the best to keep as a backyard roo? Since I am only going to keep one roo out of the bunch, I'm trying to distance myself from everyone else.
