Quiet hens now talking a lot

So I have a mixed flock and they range in age from 3 months up to 20 weeks. My older girl have not started laying yet. Here's my question, all my girls have always been super quiet but in the past 2 days have begun to "talk" up a storm. The boys have always been noisy but they are crow masters so yeah. But what would cause my older girls to become so talkative all of a sudden? TIA

Mine will get really noisy before they start laying.... then they keep the noise going just because they feel the need to argue over nest boxes. Maybe, its they're practicing their egg song.
