Quilters.....HELP!!

My suggestion to you, is seek out a local QUALITY quilt shop..talk to them..they know who makes quilts for resale also if you are near an Amish/Mennonite community there are usually quilt makers there.

There used to be some shops near Helen, Ga...also some craft fairs will have quality quilts..but as CW said good fabric runs $7-$9 a yard so you are looking at a minimum of $350 for a good quilt..

Also there is an excellent auction in my area at Liberty Kentucky in October..it is hosted by the Galilean Home..all profits go to the home (handicap children)..these quilts are very good. Many/most Amish/Mennonite..if you are interested in more info PM me..

Hey, Marlin, you never said if your daughter liked the quilt you got from me. I sure hope so!

Scott, I'd make you one for a good price, IF I was fast enough. And I promise you, these days, it takes me a long time to make anything.

I say get one from a BYC member if you want to buy one. There are plenty of talented seamstresses on here!! I will snap a pic of a quilt I made tomorrow and try and upload it. I would give it a shot but like speckledhen said....it would be a long time

I have alot of projects going right now plus just got a new horse to start on for someone. I would suggest your local quilt shop or in our area there is a ladies group that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays to quilt and we sell finished quilts there.

You sell exotic hardwood? I am looking for some new floor for my bedroom. I have white oak #2 in my house now but I want a dark exotic wood in my room. My DH is a building/hardwood flooring contractor. He puts in new wood and refinishes them too. I will have to link you two up!!

Chicken Woman is right, to commission a quilt to be made is going to be expensive, her estimate is right on.

Estate sales, auctions, antique shopping and as always - Ebay may be your more cost efficient choice. The good news is, her color choices will be easy for you to find something in
