Well, since the kids are headed back to school in 2 weeks, it must be time to think about making things for Christmas gifts. I'm sure I'm right because the fabric store had Christmas fabric out when I was there over the weekend -- YIKES!

So far this year, I only have plans to make a couple of quilted cassarole carriers. But I'm sure it will get closer to December and I'll be trying to make lap quilts or something crazy for gifts with very little time left.

How 'bout you? What do you plan to make for gifts this year, any pictures??

Oh, how sad! Nobody is working on Christmas gifts yet?

I am planning to do a quilt (my first!) for my Mom. Here is a test block I did:

It is a pattern called "Girl's Joy."

Will get back at you on the 24th of December and let ya know what I decide to do.

No sense rushing into these things LOL.

Kidding I will have to plan soon for Christmas but have not decided yet for sure what I will be doing.

I am thinking of buying my 3 daughters a Blue-Ray DVD player. I bought one this month after I found out you can use your old DVD's in them. The blue ray is fantastic like watching out a window.

The rest I will have to think about.

What is a "bug jar" quilt?

Ooops, Never mind! I found a link to the pattern while I was browsing the July Quilt Block Swap thread!

Look at the picture I posted of the block Piecmaker made in the bug jar pattern, I love it, the cutest thing!! Def. gonna make some of those blocks!! Check the Christmas fabrics thread and the july block thread, posted the pic in both places

(saves on shipping costs later, lol)

Just cut the fabric for my Dads quilt. Golf themed fabrics, Spinning fence rail design.

Still have to cut the fabric for grandneice's pink goth themed quilt. Will be a simple pattern called Yellow Brick Road.

Need to decide on fabrics for my mom's Rooster spoon holder. It's a McCalls pattern. Her kitchen is all roosters.

In the mean time, I need to make 2 baby quilts--due anytime now!! 1Music themed Yellow Brick Road--the Grandma to be is a DJ at a local radio station. 1Bright colors, Kids Can Change The World print, can't spell the pattern, lol something like the Trip around the World, starts with a B. 1 Wedding quilt. It's going to be the Yellow Brick Road pattern in a larger size and in Army prints. Groom is career Army.

Plus on Tuesday, I'm headed up to the mountains to quilt with "my girls". A tradition we started a few years back with a friends daugthers. We have been doing this for about 8 years now. We do at least one pattern a year. This time we are doing the dresdin plate/friendship circle and the one I can't remember how to spell, lol.

How about the rest of you??
