Hi
I have a R-com suro 20 and my eggs are not hatching on time?
I have the temp set at 37.5 and have 55% humidity
The chicken eggs are dying in the egg
they are my eggs from my flock and are all perfectly formed
i have 2 of the incs and they are in my basement which is about 14 degrees Celsius
i have had some quail eggs hatch 1 baby came out and today 2 days later i saw another chip
in an egg so i broke open 4 more and they are all alive an well ???????????
i have upped the temp by 1.5 degrees to 39 on both R_coms
any help??/ is it to cold down there i did not think this would make a difference

Hiya I have a king suro and my eggs hatch on average late on the 21st day to late 22nd day..

How late are they in hatching???

Our bator is kept in a very cold larder cupboard which has not effected the hatch rate.

ETA:- For lockdown we have 60-65% humidity with a temp of 37.5

thanks for the reply
2 days late????
Do you leave the humidity on 45% before lock down?

Days 1-18 we have the humidity between 50-55%

I would not worry about them being 2 days late, people on here say its best to leave them be until day 25/26 to be certain they will not hatch.

What are your hatch rates been like? How often have you used the bator??

When you set eggs you are calculating day 1 from the day after they are set???

I hope someone with more knowledge than me can help you out??

I have just bought 2 of the incubators and these are my first hatches
i count from the day i put them in,is that wrong??
I will try what you say
Thanks Chris

You count from the day after you put them in for example...

you set eggs Monday... So Tuesday would be day 1, as that is the first full day they have been in the bator.. day 18 take
turner out and up humidity. Then you sit on your hands and wait

So in theory your eggs have only been 1 day late, not time to worry as of yet....

good luck gor future hatches, I am glad I could help.

Stop worrying, I have just done my first hatch in my new Rcom suro I had 20 eggs went into lockdown friday most hatched yesterday and I'm still waiting on 9 quail eggs. I thought the quail eggs were not going to hatch so I opened one up this morning it was alive luckily it looked ready to hatch yolk absorbed most of the veins gone. Hopefully it will be ok it seems strong enough now but I'm going to leave the others a few more days. The incubator was running perfect temp I checked it with 3 thermometers and the one on the top was the same as the others so I don't understand why they are late it has never happened before with my other incubators

my 3 eggs that were late did not hatch
so i opened them today all perfect but they seem to have excess water in there
the humidity is now down to 45 so i will try again and 37.5 temp
bit sick but carry on

I had 2 Rcom Suro's and disliked them intensely for many different reasons...but all mechanical reasons. It may very well be that the calibration of the temp is off. I would try running it at 38.0 degrees for your next hatch.

Run it without eggs and put a trusted thermometer in to check the temp.

Thanks for that
I have just got a digital thermometer ,the type the doctors use so i will
test that temp
Thanks again
