Hello everyone. I know I haven't been on in a long time, I didn't intend for it to be this long but I've been struggling with some things. On July 14th of this year my chickens were poisoned via their water dish. One thing I noticed was that when I went out to feed my birds their breakfast my rooster was prohibiting my hens from drinking the water by pecking them when they got too close. The dish was full though I left it nearly empty before bed but it was clear my 18month old Brahma rooster drank enough to do damage. I immediately dosed everyone in charcoal and had to nurse Cheif along all day. He was acting crazy then suddenly lethargic and was burning up with a high heart rate. Since that day he's never been the same. He had lost a ton of feathers and half of his weight. I did everything I can. It was obvious he was not going to make it with the harsh temps that will soon come, he was dying. However I am beyond thankful for him as he saved my hens and he has been a great rooster. Thankfully I hatched some of his babies this spring and have his son, Sheriff, who's a carbon copy of him. So, I made this thread to say rest in peace to all of the beloved chickens that went before there time, they are missed daily❤️.

R.I.P Chief, you were the best rooster and I will always remember you boy💖.

I'll also tag some of my friends (sorry if I forget anyone, it's not on purpose) to say I will be on more and I'll try to catch up on my pm's/notifs and sorry if I miss any.
