The youngest chick, bout over a week old, died today in my hands

She'd been weak and found it hard to keep up with the others, and last night I found her on the other side of the house, she'd been left behind on her own.

I dunno wat killed her, she just suddenly went floppy and then kept jolting alive then going floppy again, for ages.

she had a nice funeral though and was nestled in hay in the grave and with pretty roses on top

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about your chick. It's so sad losing the young ones... It sounds like you gave her the best life you could, though.

Sometimes we just don't know what's wrong with them--cancer, heart problems, brain problems... It's hard to say. It sounds like you loved her very much. Keep her fondly in your memories.
