Rabbit Breeding

I was wondering if i could breed my doe drawft rabbit to a mini rex buck

It has been years since I raised rabbits. Why would you want to cross breed them? Most people want pure bred. Is the buck larger than the doe? If he is there is a possibility that the doe would have problems delivering. Others with more recent experience will hopefully answer. Good luck.

Most people will tell you that it's not a good idea to breed a doe to a buck that is larger than she is, because the kits may wind up too large for her to be able to give birth to them. Even if she can deliver them, the birth process may take so long that the kits don't survive it.

A responsible rabbit breeder has a goal in mind when they put two rabbits together; and it isn't just to get more rabbits. Some breed for meat, but these are pretty small breeds for that purpose. If the goal is to sell them, well, in most areas, the market for mixed-breed rabbits isn't all that great. Around here, you probably wouldn't make enough to pay for the extra feed it takes to raise them.
