Rabies?????

I had a very bad morning. What I think was a family of raccoons killed 6 chickens, 9 ducks and got a hold of one of Sebastopols. The seb got away but not without about 20 punctures in his neck. He is doing ok. I cleaned/shaved.treated the area etc. But my question is if the raccoon had rabies can the goose get it?

Even though birds are warm blooded, I'm pretty sure they can NOT get rabies. But, I'm not 100% sure.

It sounds like it is possible, but unlikely and that birds often recover even if they do get it. Not sure if I'd want to care for a rabid gander though. I wouldn't worry about it unless you have reason to belive the racoons were rabid. Good luck with your boy and I'm sorry about your loss. What a rotten way to start the day!
