OK, well I grew up on a farm in upstate New York raised seven 8000 meat birds a year on pasture 400 laying hens 400 turkeys with lamb and beef and pork also for the rodents aren't as organized and so they were safe. We moved downsize to a smaller far 20 acres and everyone went to college large family and now we’re doing their own thing, but still wanted to have some laying hands 2530 or so or used to be rest in peace around two weeks ago. I was outside around 1030 11 after doing some math using all my fingers, realizing I am not really getting any eggs at all. And then Bertha was gone Matilda, Frank fluffy chicken, one chicken for chicken seven etc. on the way back to the house after pulling out my calculator with my spotlight. I literally saw 25 to 30 raccoons and since then they have moved into my garage into the barn. I went in the garage and saw one eating a sandwich. Left the fridge open …very rude.My music was on. Alexa does not care apparently. I don’t even like Josh Groban. Looked like they were working on changing the oil in my John Deere gator. I’m saying all this because they’ve because they obviously moved in. I’ve never seen anything like it in reality 25 to 30 raccoons is shocking what is going on.

I wish I had something to say. I am having issues with raccoons sticking their grubby hands in and ripping apart my pullets while in the coop. I have doubled up on chicken wire and used metal twists at the bottom and STILL they have been killing them one by one. I ordered some spikes usually used for birds on signs to put around the coop so we will see if that helps. Good luck!

Thank you for your good luck wishes. I actually woke up early this morning with what I think is a life-changing idea for the chickens that is I will get the specifics after a few test runs, but I feel the raccoons and their terrible reign is going to come to an end shortly. Either that or it’s going to get worse, so I will let you know it may be a little overkill…. Get it? But I’ I’ll be posting before and after pictures of the chicken bunker.
