Raccoons!!

I let my chickens out to play in the back yard as usual on weekends and afternoons when I'm home. well long story short, I didn't close up the coup! my wife heard something outside. When the dog and I got there the bandit had one of my chicken in it mouth. my dog chased it away. the chicken seemed in shock but OK. now three days later she is walking with a bad limp, i examined her and found a 2" cut above her leg (deep). suggestions on treatment? I have cleaned and washed it and will again tomorrow.

So sorry to hear that!! Your right "**** raccoons!"

After cleaning the wound I would apply some antibiotic cream. You may want to put her in a smaller pen to limit her movement for the first few days, just to give the wound a chance to start healing, say maybe a large dog crate?
Being that it is a bite you may want to think about putting her on an antibiotic, to help ward off a bacterial infection.
