Rachel Ray/Paula Deen Misquito Chickens????

I saw yesterday on Rachel Ray that Paula Deen is raising chickens and that she rescued hers from being Mosquito Chickens.. They barely talked about them, but she had said that none of them had ever been out of a 5 gal bucket since birth.. I am curious if these are the birds that are tested biwwekly for West Nile and all that.. I havent found much on the net and had never heard of misquito chickens before.. Any advice or links would be great ...

I have no idea, but I am sad that I missed seeing Paula on RR's show. My 2yr old refers to her as "grandma Paula" bc she looks a little bit like my mil LOL.

I amthinking these are Sentinel Chickens she was talking about.. Here is a link explaining the role they play ... I can only giess some city/county found a cheaper way of doing it and thats why they were raised in buckets .. I may just have to email Paula and ask for some more info.

Her accent grates on my nerves as well as her love of mayo, but I am still a fan especially since my kids think she is the greatest lady ever LOL.
