racoon-proofing a dog kennel?

Hi!
I have an 8 x 16 ft dog kennel that isn't being used. My geese have gotten into the habit of sleeping in the chicken coop at night and making a royal mess of things. I'd like to find a way to put some kind of roof or something over the top to keep coons out and provide some shade/shelter for the geese at the same time. Anyone had success with this?

Would that be one of the chain link ones?

Cover the top with wire and a roof. Put hardware cloth up the sides about 2/12 feet and you are good to go. My birds are all in dog kennel runs

Thanks! I found an old thread about dog kennel coops after I started this- very nice! And fairly portable- which is great!
