Expanding duck run and need a foundation. Have access to some railroad ties but wondering if they're safe, due to the creosote. Thoughts?

I wouldn't think it would be a good idea since ducks nibble on things, but I don't know if creosote is toxic? maybe google it.

I believe creosote is pretty toxic. I recall them replacing playgrounds around here because of it. And recommending that you not eat plants grown near it.

Are these new railroad ties? I thought they stopped using creosote many years ago, and now they are safer.

I agree - I'm Not taking a chance. My ducks do indeed explore everything with their beaks. And I do believe they are still made with creosote. Thanks!
