Hey guys, may be a dumb question but we are new to this chicken thing as well as them having their own door to the coop!
Its pouring out
they are standing out in the rain???
they wont go in (ironically the opposite from my last question)
Is that ok? is the rain going to hurt them?

How old are they? If they are fully featheredd out, they should be fine. They are just acting like chickens. If they are not fully feathered out, being in the rain would not be good, quite likely fatal. They do not know to go in on their own.

Even if they get soaked and chilled, don't give up. Warm and dry them slowly. I have seen seemingly dead chicks that came back to life and showed no ill effects after an hour of looking like they were dead. Don't give up till they are warm and dead.

Hopefully they didn't get to this stage.

what are we talking about? THey are STILL Out in the rain!!!!!??? i have 12 chickens in the rain that will NOT come in. Are you saying they are going ot die?

Mine are 8 weeks old and are outside as we speak in a light rain. Their heat lamp is on but they still won't go inside. I was worried about them too but they have all their feathers so I'm sure they'll be alright.
