An other option might be using tree trunks. It all depends on how refined you want your yard to look vs. doing the cheap and free red neck version! I'm the red neck in the family, hubby is the refined one here!

I like cinder blocks in a power outage emergency or extended power outage they easily repourpose into rocket stoves to cook with. Of course a stack of any bricks do that too.

Plant some herbs. Rosemary and such. If the area allows for it. You could have a nice herb garden!

Oh, the area allows for it, as much as I need up to 3 acres. That's a lot of herbs.

Not having much luck with growing herbs. Seeds are so darned tiny. I asked hubby about a flower bed over there but no comment. I think he just wants grass. So be it, he can mow!
