Raising a single baby chick

She may not feel secure being all alone. If she had a friend she would feel safer. Is there any way you can get another chick?
Not possible right now. It unplanned to begin with. But my parents are retired so they're mostly at home. I work as freelance mobile so I share time with my parents. So for now she's (high hope it's she) okay with us around. Only night time that's all. But I learnt that need to be in truly silence and dark she'll fall sleep.

Your chick is acting fine! Remember to check for pasty butt. They are babies and so they will sleep a lot. Do you have any other chickens? (Assuming you do ) If you have any broodies possibly consider letting them take care of her? Very carefully of course. But it's also great what you're doing. You might want to get a heat plate since she's the only one and still might be cold at night. Once she gets old enough you can take her outside (On warm days if you have any otherwise dont)
