My father-in-law was cutting hay and ran over a turkey nest, killing the mother before he realized it. He brought us around 5 eggs, but since we trashed our incubator we couldn't hatch them. Well, my daughter gave them to a friend was hatching chickens.

Today we are quite shocked that one has hatched!

So, now it looks like I need another coop and run for at least 1 turkey!

Can someone point me to some of the good threads on turkeys. I'm thinking I'll need to keep it separate from my chickens who I free range occaisonally.

As far as I know chickens and turkeys can live together just fine. A friend of ours has both roaming their yard. Also definitely put your baby turkeys in with your chickens as they will teach them to eat. If you have some broody hens they might take your turkey chick on board too and every baby needs snuggles at night!

Let me know how it all goes!!

You should research histomoniasis. I have turkeys and peafowl that free range with chickens, but dealing with histomoniasis outbreaks hasn't been easy.
