Anyone know if LA is still under quarantine? I have 2 silkies, an easter egger and my old lady Buff O who's no longer laying. I'd like to add 2 more but can't even get fertilized eggs to put under my brooding silkie. ALSO as the weather has moved into spring here, my 3 layers may have decided to play hide and seek out in my 1/3 acre.. I was getting 3 eggs a day in the nesting area but they stopped or I just can't find them. ANY AND ALL IDEAS WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Lock 'em up!
Free range birds sometimes need to be 'trained'(or re-trained) to lay in the coop nests, especially new layers. Leaving them locked in the coop for a week or so can help 'home' them to lay in the coop nests. Fake eggs/golf balls in the nests can help 'show' them were to lay. They can be confined to coop and maybe run 24/7 for a few days to a week, provided you have adequate space and ventilation, or confine them at least until mid to late afternoon. You help them create a new habit and they will usually stick with it. ..at least for a good while, then repeat as necessary.

Hello. I have a 1 week old light Brahma I’m trying to find a home for if you want it. Just let me know. At no charge you just have to pick it up. It was given the mareks vaccine at 1 day old.
