Raising chickens in SD

We are new to the chicken life. We adopted two chickens that were left at my son's house with a note that they were found at a construction site and because he had chickens, they knew he would give them a good home. Well, he was afraid to introduce new chickens to his coop so he gave them to us. We fell in love with them immediately! Our 4 year old and 2 year old granddaughters live with us and they are totally enamored with their new pets.
