Storrey's Guide to Keeping Chickens, Keep Chickens!, there are many, many to choose from. I purchased quite a few books when researching keeping chickens, but honestly, the best and most helpful advice has always come from this forum. Lots of knowledge and experience here - and you'll quickly learn to discern those who are truly experienced from those who are, well, not so much. Good luck! Oh, and

We got Storey's Guide, and Chicken for Dummies -- both were helpful, although I agree, the forum has been more informative.

We got a book from Tractor Supply called Hobby Farms Chickens by Sue Weaver. Great book!
I agree whole heartedly with 33yardbirds

Storey's is the chicken raising bible. Fot in-town chicken raising, I like Patricia Foreman's 'City Chicks'
