Hi all. I'm currently raising ducklings of various breeds. I live in Spain in a very rural area and I cannot for the life of me find feed especially for ducks or game birds. The feed stores tell me to use chicken feed which is what I've been doing and adding brewers yeast.
Even online it's impossible to find, unless I import it which I can't afford.
The starter feed here (even online) is all medicated and to make it worse they keep switching medication. So while some months I am ok with the feed since the medication is safe, though not ideal, for the ducklings, other months it isn't.
This month is one of the latter. So now I've been looking for alternatives. I found a nice growers feed with small pellets that I could give them from the start I reckon but it only has 17% protein.
What would be the effect? Would they have protein deficiency or would they just grow a little slower.
What alternatives are there?
Thanks
