Raising egg layers and broilers in the same coop????

IN Reply to your question, egg laying need around 15 to 20% protein feed with calcium and vitamins to produce good eggs.

Broilers need around 21 to 23% protein and vitamins, they are primarily for meat production so you do not need them to roam around much, select a small area in your pen. Depending on how many you want to raise.

Another idea is to make a small cage and mount it inside of your coop, hanging on the wall. A medium size dog crate will hold 6 broilers to butcher size just fine.(just to give an idea about cage size)
