I have been raising my own chickens for 3 years now and wanted to know if I can raise pheasants and chickens close by each other. I know with turkeys they have to be separated. They wouldn't be in the same pen but they are attached. There is a divider between the runs and the coops are on opposite sides. I do have pens that are further away so it isn't an issue really. Thanks!

How large of a run? The one we were thinking of using is 8x12 each. We originally built this as an 8x24 but decided to split it in half and put a coop on each side. The coops are 6 ft tall and 8 foot wide.

Thanks!

Christi The Biggest Thing With Them Is Disease Transfer. The Pheasants Are Much More Susceptible To Poultry Diseases Than Your Chickens Or Even Turkeys.. These Birds Are Often Times Carriers Of Illness That They Are Immune To Which Will Not Be The Case With Your Gamebird Speces... What Your Thinking Can Be Done, The Divider Needs To Be Solid Or Moisture And Bird Proof. The Illnesses In Mention Are Spread By Feces Or Droplet ... As In When A Bird Sneezes Or Coughs It Spreads Tiny Droplets Of Bodily Secretions Which Would Contain The Illnesses... If Those Droplets Cannot Reach Your Gamebirds And You Yourself Maintain Biologic Issolation It Can Work Quite Well. Also Keep In Mind The Pens Your Suggesting Have Likely Been Used By Other Poultry Yes? If So They Would Need Sanitization As Well Prior To Use. The Solid Walls Also Work To Your Benefit In A Number Of Other Ways... Keeps The Boys Mating Their Hens And Not Trying To Kill Their Neighbor Thru The Fence And Provides More Predator Protection And A Calmer Environment For A Much More High Strung Bird Speces

Thanks so much for that~ I have a new pen that we built only a few weeks ago so I can put them in there since it hasn't been used yet. The run on it is also 8x12. (we made it smaller than the other ones) Is this large enough of a run or should we extend it further?

Thanks~
