Raising Rabbits For Meat

I am interested in raising rabbits for meat. If someone could tell me more about it I would appreciate. Right now I have 2 rabbits a San Juan doe and a New Zealand buck. My doe is pregnant and I was wondering how old the babies will have to be before I kill them

What do you need to know? Generally rabbits reach slaughter weight about 10-12 weeks. Most people shoot for 5 lbs live weight.

Umm, I need to know when I should wean them and a way of killing them

Wean around 6 weeks. As far as killing them, there are some good You Tube videos out there on processing rabbits. Most say hit on head behind ears with a blunt object. There are some that use a pellet gun or 22. I may try that with my first ones later this month.

Wean around 6 weeks. My mom processes our rabbits and she uses the broomstick method.
