I have never raised bantams. ((tiny) My friend in Oklahoma is hatching some. They seem to be born with pasty butt and died within a day. Plus they chirp constantly.
Any ideas so I can help her
thank you.
Is it possible that the hens have coccidiosis and pass it to the chicks. PS chicks hatched in incubator.

Given their short time out of the shell, I'd be most concerned about the incubator. Is she hatching out other chicks who do fine at the same time?
Coccidiosis sickens chicks later, not in one day.
Any other illnesses in her flock?

Is it likely that the brooder was too warm and didn't catch the pasty butt in time? An overly warm brooder can cause pasty butt. Is there sufficient space in her brooding space that the chicks can escape the heat if they desire? If the chicks are huddled under the lamp then they're too cool, but if they're avoiding the lamp and going as far from it at possible, then they're much too warm. CONSTANT chirping, especially loudly indicates that they were not happy about something.

I agree... something was wrong.

Some chicks are hatched stupid... and need to be shown the feed and water a few times each before they catch on.

Constant cheeping usually means too cold, too hot, hungry, or thirsty.

With mine, pasty butt has occurred when the brooder was too cold in some areas. They would then begin chirping loudly, and those with pasty butt would chirp even louder.
