ramp help needed

Good suggestion. I'll do that. Hopefully we will get it in place this weekend. My DH works dawn to dark (he owns his own business), so I'll get the parts ready and then we can put it together when we have light.

Thank you.....in case you decide to do something similar, I'll let you in on a must. I pre-drilled the 1" strips with the same size hole as the nails I used so that the nail would not split the strips. I tried a couple with the drill hole just a little smaller than the nails and ended up splitting the strip. Hopefully save you some headache, lol.

Whatever you choose to do, I'm sure it'll look great. Be sure to post some pictures to keep us in the loop.

Here's a pic of my ramp. From the ground to the coop is 3 feet, so they really need one here. It took them a while to get used to going up and down it but they have it figured out now.

and a view from the top.

for those with fixed ramps! my tip would be to attach the ramp to the coop using a door hinge on the underside of the ramp....that way when your run level goes up and down (it will do!) the ramp isn't left hanging in the air.

hope this helps.

That's what I did with mine. It makes it easier to move my coop too. I just tie it up with a strap and move the tractor without banging the ramp up on the ground.
