ran out of feed

So I ran out of feed tonight for my broilers, I read about feeding them oatmeal and cereal is that ok?? My wife will be getting feed tomorrow morning, if this ever happens again can they go for a day or so without feed??

If they free range, than possibly, but I feed my girls oatmeal as an emergency also. I also give them lettuce, and some leftover fruits.

Some folks only feed 12 hours on and 12 hours off once broilers reach 3-4 weeks old.
