We have Buff Orpington and Silver Lace Wyandotte. They are about a year old now this month October 2020. Got them at 4 weeks old October 2019.
6.26.20 we had our first Silver Lace Wyandotte drop dead with in an hour of just being out with them. No signs of any illness or discomfort.
8.1.20 had another one just drop dead this one was a Buff Orpington once again no signs of illness or discomfort and dropped dead with in a couple or hours from just being out with them
There was a bit of heavy rain day before their passing. They stay in a well made chicken coop and have a run they enjoy during the day.
Not free range at all. Being in Texas June and August where hot months. We added a fan in their coop and started to give them ice water to help with the heat.
They have probiotics that we add into their water. Checked their back in when we found them dead to check to see if it was egg binding but didn't feel anything. They also were walking great and had there fun happy personalities. We have also done a round of Corid after the second passed to make sure to help rid worms if that was the issue.
Today, 10.22.20 we had another Buff Orpington die randomly.
Still producing a good egg count daily. Curious if any one has any feedback on random deaths or recommendations.

With Gratitude,

There are a lot of things that can kill a chicken suddenly with no symptoms.
3 dead chickens for no apparent reason in 4 months indicates it is time for a necropsy to discover the cause.
Corid is amprolium and is for controlling coccidia. It does nothing for worms. If there are worms, they need an anthelmintic that works for the specific species of worm. Get a fecal sample read to determine what species of worm if any. They may have none.
You have several poultry diagnostic labs in Texas.
Call one if none are close to you and see if they'll send you a FedEx label for shipping the bird.
