Hey guys.

I woke up this morning to feed my chicks in the brooder in our garage. And found a trampled chick. I put the crumble down and all the other chicks scrambled for it but one that happened to be underneath everyone else. We live in South Florida, and when I went to bed at midnight, it was 90 degrees in the garage. So I didn't turn on the heat lamp as they range in age from 2 weeks to 4 weeks old. When I picked this one up, she was pretty cold. I fed her some sugar water and she peeped a little. But I don't think she's coming back from this. Should I have put the lamp on?

I'm a first timer. So any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks.

Welcome To BYC

You may want to separate her, provide her with a little heat and see if she will drink some more sugar water or add some electrolytes. Get her hydrated first, then offer some wet chick starter.

Keep us posted.

I had to leave for church. I had separated her and put her under the light, but when I came home, she was gone.
