Hi Y'all,

I just had to vent!!!!

I'm so mad I could eat nails and spit bullets!
I sold a person on eBay some eggs and shipped them the next morning.
They took 10 days to get there! I got a email demanding I do something about it and the buyer accused me of printing the label and not putting them in the mail. I provided tracking info from USPS that clearly states the eggs were in the postal service's care just as I said. The buyer then filled a dispute and e-bay ruled in their favor stating "item was not as described"! The buyer even stated that they did not even open them, so how could they be not as described?? The worst was yet to come....the buyer left me a negative feedback that stated I printed the label but did not mail the eggs for 7 days. The buyer clearly knows the tracking shows I shipped them! How could someone be allowed to put a lie on your feedback? I would have gladly replaced the eggs had the person not tried to make this my fault and been rude from the beginning.. What makes this even worse, this person also sells eggs and states in their auctions the risk of shipping eggs and ask you not bid if you don't accept those risk! Double standard Huh! I contacted eBay and after giving them the "real" details, they could not give me a reason why they ruled in the buyers favor. They said it was too late to reverse the decision. They even admitted to the feedback being a lie (via tracking) but would not remove it. Am I wrong thinking that publicly posting a known lie about someone is slander? I could care less about the cost of the eggs or the negative feedback, but I detest A flat out lie!! I could accept a bad feedback that stated the eggs were in the postal system for 10 days, but not a lie! How can it be right for E-bay to allow someone to post a known lie on your feedback?
What happened to old-fashion honesty????? You do the right thing and get penalized for it, and a liar gets rewarded!!
What's wrong with this world.......

Thanks for letting me rant!!!!!

You can reply to your feedback under there feedback and give them feedback as well. Am I saying this right?
I know big deal. Better then nothing.

EBay has become a buyers paradise, people can buy, pay through PP and then complain and get their money back, they then have the item and the money. I do not even buy off EBay any longer. I still browse but it has gotten so bad I do not buy or sell. Con Artists are so prevalent now that I bet Ebay is running amok with them. Ebay does not care either, they get their cut.

Yah, Ebay has gone downhill. It's all about the buyers now, with no protection for the sellers. I sold an Item and the guy never paid for it, so in the old days, I could leave negative feedback, but not anymore, only buyers can leave negative feedback, sellers only have the option of Positive feedback. And the cost to sell things is outrageous too, I sold an item today for $100 and ebay took $13! With millions of items selling everyday, you would think they could make cheaper fees!

Count us as among the people that have left E-Bay also.
Isn't what it use to be for sure.

Back to where I began...I still use the "free" ad-takers in
my area. Never a cost to buyer or seller...all deals done
face to face.

I use some in several states, depending on what I'm trying
to sell. Some items, such as commercial trucks or antique cars,
are worth advertising in various papers.

But E-bay? I'm done.

Shipping eggs through the mail just does not work for some people. We had bad experiences because they probably shipped the eggs in a postal truck that got too hot. Add to that, I suspect they x ray them, and that cannot be good for them. If you live in an area that experiences extreme temperatures, it may be best to buy your hatching eggs locally.

I've had similar experiences. Selling on ebay is really a gamble. I agree on the comment already made. Buyers on there can pay with paypal then demand their money back. And the bad part is they get it!

I sold an retired American Girl doll and about $1000+ worth of clothes and things. That were played with by a 16 year old girl maybe 5 times.

It had a ton of bids. One buyer emailed me a few times with really weird questions. There was a doll coin on the auction and she emailed me asking 'is it heavy' I replied back asking in comparision to what? She said nevermind she didn't mean that.

Well she ended up winning. And as soon as the auction was other she was like. 'Gah. I paid way more then I wanted too.' Then she waited until the last day to pay. Then the next day she asked 'Could you ship slower shipping and not charge me the $25 you have listed.' I said sure. Took box to post office they told me it would cost $16 for the box to ship and take 10 days to get there. Well I replied back and told her that. And sent back $9. Remember everytime you receive money on paypal they take out some.

She continued to complain that she should of never bid that much. Blah Blah. Well when I went to ship it. They said 'oops we made a mistake it's actually going to cost $32 to ship. WHAT THE HECK. So the $25 I orignally charged wouldn't of even been enough. But I eneded up paying $17 of my own money to ship.

Well I didn't hear back from her for a month. Then all the sudden I get on email that paypal sent me a message stating 'the buyer got false products and if you don't refund $50 within 2 weeks we will open a court against you'

All the buyer said on there was 'The items were all very nice. But the doll could not stand up on her own. Showing that her limbs were loose and she was infact played with very hard for a very long time.'

WHAT!? If she was played with why were all the clothes perfect, and her hair. She never stood when we bought her from the company. We never thought anything of it.

We tried to contact the lady and work something out. But she refused to speak to me. And instead just told us through the paypal dispute that we were lieing, and just trying to make money off innocent people.

Oh and by the way. When the dispute was opened up. Paypal took the full $330 AND the $25 for shipping out of our account without warning. Saying it was disputed money and they woudl keep it until it was resolved. If we didn't keep a cushion in our checking account that would of made us bounce! Causing tons of problems with bills and companies.

Paypal sided with her. Saying that there was no way to prove her wrong. And told us we HAD to sent her $50 or never get our money back.

I got tired of fighting this forever. And I NEEDED that money to buy a camera for a college photography class I was taking. So we just sent the $50. We got negative feedback too.

I was so upset from this. I'm not sure I will sell on there ever again.

The lady didn't have any problems. She just realized after she went crazy and bid higher than she could pay that she didn't want to spend that much. So she demanded she get $50 back. If she didn't want to spend that much she shouldn't of bid that high! duh. There were 15 other people that would of been happy to bid that. But just didn't get lucky enough to get the last bid in.

I could of easily broke the acution up and sold each piece for much more than what I got from it. I just didn't want to mess with it. So she got a deal anyway. I am upset about it now. But I really had to have that money for my camera. I didn't have a choice.

I hate dumb people. I could tell she was trouble from the start. When she asked a bunch of dumb questions, and complained about paying too much, and waited to the last day to pay, then asked for money back. She would not work with me at all. Although I remained nice through the entire thing.

I am very sensitive about upseting people or getting bad feedback. And I bawled over this.

Why do you never see stories about e-bay about all the auctions that made way more money than an item was worth or was expected to get? or customers that where just wonderful. I always here about how this bad thing happened or that and how terrible e-bay is. I have thought about it. If I owned a business and had customers that only made there complaints known regardless of how long we had done business or how much money I had made it possible for them to make. I would not only not want those customers to come back. I would pretty quickly realize I could not afford to have them come back. sooner or later every single one of those type of customers is going to have a bad experience. And I will have one more person running around bad mouthing my business. I could not afford to let that keep happening. I sometimes wonder if that is what e-bay is doing with some of there policy changes. Trying to drive of some of the sellers that are hurting them. There is another type of seller. the ones that know they will take losses. track those losses and mark up there product to cover those losses. That is part of managing a business.
