I'm soo egg-cited. I have tried hatching these miniature Silkie eggs 3 times now, this is third time lucky. I poked a metal stick through the air vent and taped the egg which is on day 20 as I read the mama chicken does that and 10 minutes later.. I have a pip!!

I have 4 whites, due on Tuesday in the same incubator, so hope they'll be okay too. Cant wait to see if these are any smaller than bantam Silkies!

I've photographed the pip and now my camera is on charge ready to carture every second!

What to do with myself now....

Edit: S/He is 2 days old now, and sooo cute. The problem is s/he's so lonely and chirps incessantly.. and very loudly! until someone goes in the room. If you put your hand in it jumps on and will not get off!!Think it's going to be very tame. I put a cuddly toy in and a red light, but it just wants company! Praying that my white miniatures hatch tomorrow!

Oh and.. I'm in love ¢¾

Mine hasn't rocked yet.. Just one teeny tiny pip.
I've been poking it and clucking at it like a mama chicken!!!

Only in the U.K it appears. The eggs are tiny, I was just going to photo one then I got a pip so it'll have to wait until tomorrow!!

Hmm, my edit didnt bump it up!?

Does anyone know when they start to eat and drink by themselfs?
The chick crumbs look too big and hard to ever fit in his tiny
beak?
